Using Vinyl and my KNK machine to decorate containers in my kitchen….
Finally found my vinyl. I have been decorating kitchen and now doing the fun part of adding some of little details`. The kitchen is boring a basic galley kitchen that was a horrible shade of peach when I moved in 3 months ago. I have chosen to go with a retro 50’s look and its now aqua and white. I wanted to do a blue/aqua subway tile backsplash but was CRAZY expensive. I got some tile on clearance at Home depot so whole back splash cost me under a 100.00 to do and made a huge difference.
Now that I have decided on colour scheme…. have always LOVED Fiesta-ware china and finally stated collecting. You no longer have to scour garage sales an eBay because they have started re-issuing and prices are very affordable. I originally just wanted Turquoise but added a couple of pieces of Sunflower, a soft buttery yellow that perfectly matches my living and dining room.
I found a store locally that sells Fiestaware and WOW was it expensive- imagine how thrilled I was when I discovered Macy's“>Macy’s not only sells Fiestaware but ships to Canada at an affordable price AND their prices are almost half of what my local store is charging. Amazon has prices comparable but the shipping/duty was insane ( 135.00 shipping on an 100 dollar order!)
At my local store I was going to buy 4 mugs, sugar bowl, 4 medium bowls and came to 130.00 (I ended up cancelling everything but mugs… )
Macy’s- bought 2 x 2 quart bowls, 4 pasta bowls, 4 chili bowls, spoon rest, 4 ramekins FOR same as everything above… and shipping and duty was 35.00. If I had ordered from store would have been close to 300.00.
On top of all that- I got 15% off with coupon code, then I noticed yesterday they had promo on if you bought 100.00 worth of Fiestaware they would give you a cake plate and serving knife free. I called and not only did they add on- but my order all ready went out so they are shipping free. I am just so pleased with the great customer service.
Canadians might be known for their politeness but American sure give AMAZING customer service.
Ordering all the new dishware inspired me to do a bit of decorating with some vinyl and KNK cutter.
I have a couple of tins I picked up and love. They are really cute-not only colour but font was perfect.
I had picked up soap dispenser in same colour ( 5.99 at Target!) and wanted to add same font and word’Soap”
As always finding same font to cut out was a chore and even then I had to tweak to get it just right.
I am offering the font to download but it is in a graphic (SVG) format-so you will have to copy and paste from alphabet to get your phrase. Because of size of downloadable file I am only offering in SVG format. If some one really ants GSD please ask and I will try and do up.
One thing that is a challenge is the soap container has a silicone/rubber finish and vinyl not sticking as well as I would like- I wonder if there is a product that would help it adhere?
I amalso thinking of getting large Fiesta Canister and puttin on words “cookies” but is that getting a bit much and verging on tacky???? (Think I just answered my own question)
